Shandon

LOW PRICE POINT RURAL LAND

Located only a few miles from the town of Cholame, where the famous James Dean died in his Porsche 550 Spyder.  Shandon is a small farming community about 20-25 minutes east of Paso Robles.  The home prices in Shandon are generally lower than the Paso Robles area due to its commute time and lack of amenities.  There are some small entry level homes priced very well in Shandon at the low to mid 100K range.  On the outskirts of "Shandon" proper there are some very nice large acreage parcels with rolling hills.  In 2000 the census of Shandon was about 986 people and 267 households.  Shandon remains small today, although there is some speculation of growth as the cities of Paso Robles and Creston continue to grow.

If you are looking for a low price point on acreage, a rural property, or entry level home and don't mind the commute, then Shandon may be  good place to look.
