Creston

BIG LAND WITH SMALL TOWN FEEL
Creston is a lovely little unincorporated community in San Luis Obispo County.   Located about 15 miles southeast of Paso Robles.  Creston was founded in 1884 on the Rancho Huer Huero Mexican land grant.
Creston Valley is filled with scattered oak trees and small to large acreage parcels.  The Cardiff Stud Farm (Creston Farms) was formerly owned by the television personality Alex Trebek, and where a number of retired American thoroughbred racehorses are taken care of.

The writer and Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard also lived at his ranch near Creston.
The very small town of Creston consists of a post office, small general store, a few local businesses, and one of the best prime rib steak houses in the county.  The Loading Chute is home of some great BBQ's steaks and an occasional barn dance.  The annual Creston Rodeo is a great place to come and watch the local equine and rodeo talent.

Creston can range from your modest ranch home on 5 acres to, 4000 sqft custom built Tuscan homes on 40 acres in a gated community, to incredible custom built mansions, ponds, horse facilities, and a landing strip  on 100+ acres.  If you are looking for a 10-100+ acre parcel with more of a rural feel, and don't mind being about 20 minutes away from some of Paso Robles or Atascadero's amenities and schools, Creston might just be the place to look.
