DRAMATIC COASTAL SCENERY
Cayucos is located just off Highway One, between Morro Bay and Cambria, and only 30 minutes from Hearst Castle. It is halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco and about 3 hours driving time from the San Joaquin Valley. Because of the mild seasons, cool but sunny summers, and sunny, mild winters, Cayucos an ideal resort for summer and winter vacations.  The quiet waters make it a haven for skin diving, swimming, surfing and sea kayaking . Cayucos Beach has clean white sand for sunbathers and a “children's own”play area. Picnic tables and barbecues are accessible and parking is plentiful. Everything is close to shopsand restaurants for supplies, good food and service.  Hardie Park is a short walk from the pier where a fresh water swimming pool is open and available to the public all summer. In the park, visitors will find year-round tennis courts, picnic tables barbecue pits and a playground.

 The mild moderate climate is ideal for people seeking health and vigor. A stroll about town will enable the visitor to savor the Swiss-Italian and Portuguese flavor of the old buildings and to "drop in" on the many fine restaurants, antique shops, candy and ice cream stores and gift shops.
