San Luis Obispo County has some of the finest wineries in the world. Our Paso Robles wineries and vineyards are some of the most desired varietals in the Industry. Paso Robles winery "Saxum" was recently awarded the prestigious award of the #1 wine for 2010 according to Wine Spectator. Our valleys and back roads are filled with over 200 wineries and tasting rooms. Below is a list of some of our favorite wineries to visit while in the Paso Robles area.
First you may want to check out Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance and view detailed Vineyard Profiles, Wine Directories, Varietal information, and an interactive Wine Tasting Map.
Quite possibly one the best wineries in San Luis Obispo County. Tucked away about 30 minutes into West Paso Robles is this spectacular Winery, Restaurant, and Bed & Breakfast. The winery is known for its flag ship ISOSCELES blend but has other varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Tempranillo, Malbec and Zinfandel.
A unique feature of Cass wine making is that all of the Rhone grapes we grow are ENTAV certified. ENTAV (Establissement National Technique pour l’Amelioration de la Viticulture) is the national agency of France responsible for the quality of wine grape varieities. Over 90% of all French Vineyards are started with ENTAV certified plants and are only recently available in California. Consequently, these are among the very first wines made from ENTAV grapes grown here
Our grapes are grown to promote intense, varietal flavors that can then be sculpted in the cellar into a final artistic statement. Meticulous winemaking practices coax the true varietal essences of the fruit forward, allowing for wines that are full-bodied, rich, and expressive.
A boutique, micro winery specializing in the production of very small lots of luxury wines. Our focus is on handcrafting wines of exceptional character, with fruit from Paso Robles for our Cabernet Sauvignons and Rhone blends and fruit from the Santa Lucia Highlands in Monterey County for our rich, elegant Pinot Noirs.
